Description/Story:

"Is Zaleeha really out of her mind?" Meanwhile, the entire living room was in chaos. The screams Zahira was making were filled with panic as she jumped around, shouting, "Is this what peace looks like?"

Aunty Lubna and Ziyada clung to each other, their eyes wide with fear. Seeing Zaleeha holding a knife, slashing her own wrist while letting out a terrifying, deafening scream, blood immediately began to gush out, pouring onto the floor.

In a mix of horror, shock, and disbelief, Ahmad quickly rushed to her side, grabbing her hand and snatching the knife she had pressed against her vein. The screams of Mama, her sister Ruda, and Zahira filled the entire house at once.

Mamy, Aunty Lubna, and Ziyada were also crying out in fear, terrified that Zaleeha was about to commit suicide. Meanwhile, Zaleeha herself kept screaming hysterically, jumping around.

"I swear I’ll kill myself! Let me die so everyone can have peace! If I die, cut my corpse in two and give each of them a piece!"

Ahmad, however, managed to grab her bleeding hand, seeing how deeply she had cut herself as blood poured out.

Baba Malam, the moment he saw her attempting to kill herself, turned and left the scene, walking away in distress, overwhelmed by anger and bitterness.

Before him, in his own home, his daughter was screaming about killing herself—over a man she claimed he had sent to her parents. His vision blurred completely, as if a thick darkness had clouded his eyes. He could do nothing but repeatedly call upon Allah’s name.

"Today, Malam Bashir Sulaiman Dukku will witness a suicide in his own house—and it will be his own daughter. The Fulani were right when they said, (Te'ud'o laddefu and'i dayan sabere)—if someone marries a wild beast, they should know that one day it will give birth to a monster."

His body trembling, he sat heavily on the edge of his bed, covering his face with both hands as he lamented to himself.

"Ah, today he has seen the truth. Isn’t it foolish for a Fulani man to engage in marriage customs without understanding the consequences? Today, he has witnessed the harm and destruction of his lineage. Everyone knows what his daughter Zaleeha is capable of—yet he refused to believe she would go this far. But now she has committed an act so disgraceful that Islam condemns it. Suicide—whether by one’s own hand or another’s—is a barbaric, faithless act, devoid of trust in Allah and His Messenger. These people don’t even believe in divine decree, whether good or bad."

A deep, heart-wrenching sob escaped the dignified, composed scholar. Choking on his tears, he picked up a small bag, stuffing it with his Quran and some books. Then he took his ATM card and car keys, preparing to leave.

Slowly, he walked toward the part of the house where the chaos was escalating.

Thump-thump-thump—his heart pounded violently with fear. *Could she really kill herself?*

As he reached them, he found everyone standing in the middle of the house. Zaleeha, still bleeding, was now throwing around the suitcases that Abdussalam’s relatives had brought, scattering them across the room.
